HAPPY JUNE FROM NH!

The new album with Vin Downes is out, I've got a new website, there are cool projects going on in the studio, and I've got more new music in the pipeline!

Here's the latest:

until the light was gone is the new CD from Vin Downes and me. It combines Vin's electric guitar with my textural tendencies on piano, Rhodes, bass, and keyboards. It's everywhere on streaming now, and available on CD here!

Tomeaton.net got a complete remake. Three years ago I hired a company to build me a site that integrated my music work and my work producing and mastering for other people. In some ways it hit the mark, but they built the site inside a platform that 1. didn't allow me to have a store, 2. didn't allow me to add content easily, and 3. severely limited my ability to send emails out to people who actually asked me to stay in touch! So tomeaton.net 2.0 has arrived. It's built inside the Bandzoogle platform, which gives me loads of flexibility in terms of design and features. So I now (for the first time ever!) have my own music store where you can listen to and buy all my albums (as well as more than 24 hour-long audio-environments). It has an expanded section about my work as producer, and I'm happy to report that my photo gallery of nature pics is back!

We are this close to wrapping Ken Bonfield's new album. It's been such a pleasure to make this record from start to finish here with Ken. We asked some very talented friends to join us: Vin Downes (second guitars), Michael Manring (fretless bass), Charlie Bisharat (violins), Jeff Oster (flugelhorn), Mike Rivard (double bass), and Kim Deschamps (pedal steel). It's a beautiful album, and I can't wait to share the music with you. We're making final tweaks on mixes this week, and then I'll master it up! Can't wait!

Three time Emmy winner Michael Whalen is a true master of the synthesizer, and I'm always glad to put the final shine on one of his albums. Standing Near Infinity just released on June 5th, and it's a deep and beautiful sojourn into melodic electronic music. Check it out wherever you listen to music and prepare to be moved!

Ryan Judd and I just released our eighth track together, which is called “A Quiet Unfolding.” Our tracks tend to emphasize peace and space, and this one is a slow, airy mediation for nylon string guitar and keyboards. There's a YouTube Music playlist with all eight tracks here, or you can find them on all the streaming services!

Sort of behind the scenes I've also started releasing a collection of ten short ambient pieces called the “quiet sky” series. One piece comes out on streaming on the 20th of every month, and so far “quiet sky #1” and “quiet sky #2” are out in the world. If you're in need of a quick break and a deep breath, please check them out anywhere you listen to music.

This is newsletter number thirty-seven (?) of 415 or so (depending on the actuarial table you consult), and I am very, truly grateful to you for tuning in to the words here, to my music, and to the music I help shepherd into the world.

You can find records I worked on on all the streaming services. Currently Bandcamp remains the best spot to find all my music, though as mentioned above I've finally built a store on my website and a page with links to stream my music from all the usual places.
