My slow motion meditations on nature and the passing of time continue. Fall is beautiful in New England. The light lowers, the hum changes, birdsong turns to rustling leaves and then just wind. The lakes mirror and mute the colors once the morning fog lifts from their surfaces. Things slow. There is nothing to do but sit with the change.
These pieces were composed between December 2022 and Sept 2023. I spent most of this year in public focused on "weathering," but in the studio my almost daily practice of creating sound-spaces continued. I have a particular soft spot for "a homecoming," which emerged on Sept. 12th.
