GRAMMY® AWARD NOMINATED AMBIENT MUSICIAN, MASTERING ENGINEER, AND
PRODUCER OF TWO GRAMMY NOMINATED ALBUMS

Since 1993 I have been producing, engineering, and playing on albums for others. I started mastering albums in 2004 as a way to maintain the level of audio quality I worked hard to achieve in my mixes. Since 2009 I've been collaborating with Will Ackerman (GRAMMY® winning guitarist, producer, and founder of Windham Hill Records) making albums for some of the best musicians working in the modern instrumental and new age genres.
I have contributed engineering to Emmy and Grammy winning projects, and have supplied content for NPR, the BBC, ABC, Bravo, and the National Geographic Channel, and have worked on hundreds of music projects over the years.
Brothers, a trio album written and performed by Will, and Jeff Oster, and me, was nominated for a GRAMMY® Award in 2021. Will’s album, Positano Songs, which I produced with Will and recorded, mixed, mastered (and played piano and bass on) was nominated for a 2022 GRAMMY® award.
Sounds & Substance is in rural New Hampshire not far from where I grew up. The studio is located in a two-story converted barn containing a mastering studio on the first floor and my composing space on the second floor.
