As the days get shorter the nights grow longer and my musical tendencies go towards darker themes. These four hour-long works in D minor (some would say the saddest of all keys) fit together nicely as chapters of night... from early and softer, through more uneasy, and eventually back out of the deep shadows and into something a little less ominous.
