How the Light Gets In
Ryan Judd & Tom Eaton
Nylon-string guitarist Ryan Judd and I have been collaborating for several years. Initially I was adding synth and bass textures and mixing and mastering his recordings, but we started co-writing in 2024 and have been steadily releasing music that combines my love of slow motion textures with his meditative guitar. "How the Light Gets In" is a collection of the songs we've written together.
I love making music with other people as it always takes me in different directions than I'd go on my own, and in this case it's made even better by the fact that Ryan and I are good friends and he lives only one town away from me here in New Hampshire. We met at an industry event in New Orleans and had no idea we were almost neighbors.
The album title is borrowed from Leonard Cohen:
"There is a crack in everything, that's how the light gets in."
